Are They Going To Ever Make Real Muscle Cars Again?

If you happen to be in your forties or fifties, it's likely your first car was a real American muscle car. These types of cars have resulted in people searching all over the United States for old muscle cars that need repair. The top reason is that not any of the Big Three are making these awesome machines anymore. The main question is who is going to start manufacturing them again?

Chevy and Ford continue to release new versions of their iconic Camaro and Mustang every few years. The problem is that every year these manufacturers get away from what a true muscle car is and they keep filling them with more and more computer equipment. When is anyone going to produce a muscle car with a 327 and a 4 barrel carburetor ever again. Sadly the reply to this question may well be never.

The actual problem is that people want to constantly upgrade things just for the sake of it. One example is the timeless 1967 Camaro, which is considered the all time great muscle car. However, if this sports car was so popular why did Chevy stop making it and why have they not made that type of model since. This also applies to the 1966 Mustang, an amazing car with a great style and they just gave up on making it.

I'll tell you the odd aspect. Volkswagen saw the potential to reintroduce the VW Bug and they did. The newest Beetle sold well despite its ultra modern design. Had they stuck to the traditional style, they might have sold more. It's difficult to be successful if you always believe that doing things a new way is always better.

Probably the most important point might be this. If perhaps Chevy sprang out with a new Camaro with a 327 engine and 4 barrel carburetor, and if they omitted all the computer equipment and built the car like they used to, how many of you would want one? I asked this question to virtually countless people throughout the years and they all said they would without delay get one. So what is the issue with the car businesses? If consumers want the good old days, when is some auto company intending to give people what they desire.

What will it take for GM or Ford to choose to make all those classic muscle cars once more? I'm certain that selling these unforgettable American cars will be very lucrative for the car companies. But before big companies realize that there is a demand for this category of vehicles we are going to be forced to keep looking through the junk yards and rebuilding the classic American muscle cars.

We could get lucky and at some point these companies will choose to start making them. At this time, these executives think technology makes better cars. In my opinion I think it's about time to get back to the essentials.
